With eight days to go on auction, the current bid already stands at $700,000.
If you want a beautiful grand tourer, Lexus will happily sell you the LC Coupe. Elegant it may be, the large GT is nowhere near as striking – or exciting – as the LFA. Widely considered to be one of the best supercars of the 21st century, the Yamaha-developed 4.8-liter V10 is the epitome of atmospheric combustion. What’s more, it has a wonderful exhaust note, howling dramatically as you near the 9,000 rpm redline.
Even if you have the financial wherewithal, buying an LFA will prove difficult. With just 500 units produced, they’re exceptionally rare and as a result, owners tend to hang onto them. So, when one comes up for sale, collectors spring into action. This 2010 model is particularly special, having been driven just 850 miles over its 10-year life.

The Starfire Pearl example pictured here is the 235th example made and wears 20-inch forged BBS wheels. Behind the polished items sits serious stopping power in the form of red-painted Brembo brake calipers with carbon-ceramic rotors.
Open the door and you’ll find upholstery to match the exterior paintwork. This LFA has a rather decadent white leather interior, uplifted by sportier black and red hide trimmings. Decorative carbon fiber elements can be found all over the snug cabin and look fantastic on the flat-bottomed steering wheel.
The LFA was a seriously expensive car back in its day and the standard specification reflects that. Naturally, the bucket seats are power-adjustable but the Lexus also boasts navigation and a Mark Levinson surround-sound system. With just 850 miles on the odometer, everything presents as new. The leather remains blemish-free and the trim is devoid of any scuff marks.

While collectors may salivate at the thought of a well-preserved, low mileage example of any supercar, it’s rather tragic that these great vehicles never get to spend time on the road. Then again, the original owner may have purchased the LFA as an investment, and, in that case, who can blame them? With an original MSRP of $388,600, it’s set to yield a great return; with eight days to go at auction, the current bid is sitting at $700,000.
Last year, an LFA with even lower mileage sold for $808,000. It’s possible that this pearlescent example may just eclipse that price, as collectors realize just how special Lexus’ only supercar is. The legendary LFA will finally get a successor, with reputable sources noting the upcoming version will gain both a twin-turbo V8 setup and a fully electric drivetrain. While we certainly mourn the loss of the V10 engine, we’re delighted that Lexus is giving its automotive legend the successor it deserves.
