The latest addition has some experience behind the wheel… sort of.
The Fast & Furious franchise has spawned nine core movies (plus a Hobbs & Shaw) with a two-part finale and another female-led spin-off film in the works. With the main Fast Saga to reach its conclusion after more than two decades, Universal Pictures is bringing in all the star power it can muster. Fast 10 (an unconfirmed title) will star Aquaman himself, Jason Momoa. It’s unclear what role the Game of Thrones star-turned superhero will play in the Fast Franchise, but we know he won’t be the only former actor to join the cast.
Vin Diesel recently shared a post on Instagram confirming that Brie Larson will join Fast 10 to play a new, currently unconfirmed character. You may recognize Larson for her recent role as Captain Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or more recently as the spokesperson for Nissan.

As far as her car enthusiast credentials go, Larson doesn’t appear to have a collection like the late Paul Walker, but she does have plenty of experience driving in commercials, like the one for the upcoming 2023 Nissan Z. Larson has also leveraged her Marvel connection in a commercial for the all-electric Audi e-tron SUV.
Without giving much away, Diesel hinted at Larson’s upcoming role. “You see this angel over my shoulder cracking me up, you say to your self ‘that’s captain Marvel.’ Clearly, there is love and laughter in this image. What you don’t see however, is the character you will be introduced to in Fast 10,” Diesel said on Instagram.
“You have no idea how timeless and amazing she will be in our mythology. Beyond her beauty, her intellect… her Oscar, haha is this profound soul who will add something you might not have expected but yearned for. Welcome to the FAMILY Brie,” he added.
Perhaps we are reading too much into the post, but the mention of “the family” could indicate Larson will join Dominic Toretto crew as a protagonist, rather than an antagonist.
We will find out when the film is released in 2023.
