One Guy Bought FOUR Of These Tahoe-Based K5 Blazer Conversions

Who doesn’t love a bit of nostalgia every now and then? When it comes to cars, it’s safe to say that nearly everyone does, whether it’s your first car or the poster of a Lamborghini Countach you had stuck to your bedroom wall, we all love harking back to our favorite era of motoring. Combining the best of both worlds is becoming a popular option these days: resto-modders and aftermarket tuners are taking old-school charm and adding some modern tech to make the ultimate classic rides, and these K5 Blazers, which are based on the popular Chevrolet Tahoe, are the perfect example. Flat Out Autos built its first example for the 2019 SEMA show, and it proved so popular that the company built four more, which all went to the same owner.

By using the Chevy Tahoe as a base, these K5 tributes have five doors instead of the original two, and the roofline is a dead giveaway, but the overall look is pretty convincing. All four of these unique SUVs feature the same blue lower body and white upper portion exterior design, inspired by the K5 Blazer of the late 1960s. Trademark styling features such as the round headlights and chrome bumpers take one back to a time where cars were “built to last”. Flat Out Autos went the extra mile by adding a carbon fiber rear hatchback and milled door handles.

According to a recent Facebook post reply, Flat Out Autos is building another example with a slightly different grille design (this time from a ’72 K5 Blazer), and will sport an epic Mustard Ocre yellow paint job. Flat Out Autos charge its customers $69,000 for the conversion (excluding the Tahoe or Yukon required for the build), which includes parts, labor and a full respray. Is it worth it? Totally.
