  3. Ultra-Limited BMW M3 And M4 Celebrate 50 Years Of BMW M

Just 50 lucky customers will get their hands on one.

2022 marks a massive milestone for BMW M. The performance subsidiary is celebrating its 50th anniversary in true style, spewing out special editions and new models to mark the auspicious occasion. The M4 CSL recently arrived in a cloud of tire smoke and, more recently, the M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe have been given the Edition 50 Jahre BMW M treatment.

Sadly, the USA won’t receive the M4. The M3 Edition 50 Jahre will, at least, be made available and can be had in an assortment of historic hues from BMW M’s back catalog. Fancy a G80 in Techno Violet? Here’s your chance. Other markets will receive distinctive hues too, but it seems BMW Singapore has taken a slightly different approach.

Limited to just 50 examples, the Singaporean M3 Competition and M4 Competition 50 Jahre special editions have been adorned with BMW Motorsport’s classic insignia. The tri-tone scheme has been applied to the side of both vehicles, lending them a distinctive presence.

While not to everyone’s taste, it’s a unique way to commemorate the anniversary. The treatment has been extended to the hood, where it appears as if the colors are radiating from the power domes. At the rear, equally striking graphics denote the duo’s exclusivity, with a “50 Jahre BMW M” sticker flanked by the racing colors. The BMW roundel and wheels also gain the historic color scheme.

However, it’s the additional carbon fiber styling parts that lend the duo extra flair. The most obvious enhancement is the rear spoiler, but the air vents and front bumper also benefit from the lightweight material. These aesthetic enhancements give both M cars a pace car look.

Aside from the Sao Paulo Yellow and Isle Of Man Green pictured, BMW Singapore is offering the pair in iconic shades not available in the USA. The E46’s Dakar Yellow makes a return, along with Imola Red and Frozen Marina Bay Blue.

“BMW M always appears different and new but can be instantly recognized. The BMW M 50 Jahre special editions exemplify this philosophy and I’m confident they will trigger goosebumps when seen on Singapore roads,” said BMW Group Asia’s Lars Nielsen.

These highly limited variants are based upon the RWD Competition models. With 503 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque up for grabs, both are capable of rocketing to 60 mph in 3.8 and 3.7 seconds, respectively. While we’re envious of the color schemes and unique decals, there’s a big price to pay.

Singapore is known for having massively inflated car prices and the M3 and M4 50 Jahre special editions are no different. The M3 retails for SGD545 888 (approx. $398,233) while the M4 is pricier still, at SGD550,888 (approx. $401,880).
