Sadly, this special Audi RS3 couldn’t be saved.

We’re still waiting for the all-new Audi RS3 to arrive, which is expected to get a significant power bump, with reports claiming the output will increase to 420 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. If you can’t wait for the next-generation RS3 to arrive, aftermarket tuners can already extract more power from the current-generation performance saloon.

In the UK, air intake manufacturer Eventuri has been working on a crazy RS3 build with up to 850 horsepower on tap thanks to a forged engine by Race Developments with an Iroz Motorsport IMS850 Turbo, a Syvecs ECU management system, an AEM methanol injection system, and an Eventuri Stage 3 Intake System.

In the UK aftermarket tuning scene, Eventuri’s 850-hp monster has earned a reputation for setting new records.

Last year, it became the fastest RS3 in the UK after achieving a top speed of 211 mph at the VMAX200 event. The project clearly had a lot of potential, but we’ll sadly never get to see it unleashed. On social media, Eventuri announced the car was destroyed after catching on fire during a filming session. Fortunately, nobody was hurt, but the same can’t be said for the RS3. Photos shared by the tuner show the burned-out remains of the performance sedan.

It isn’t known what caused the fire, which erupted in the engine bay. Firefighters arrived on the scene to extinguish the blaze, but the special RS3 sadly couldn’t be saved.

“We are thankful no one was hurt and that this didn’t happen at a high-speed event. We will move on and come back stronger – next time a fire suppression system will be installed first,” Eventuri wrote on social media.

The tuner also urges anyone with high-powered builds to invest in a fire suppression system as this would have prevented the RS3 from perishing in the fire.
