  3. This V12-Powered Megayacht Is Inspired By Supercars

This extravagant expression of wealth is a seagoing supercar.

In most parts of the world, swishing up in a brand new Ferrari Roma would make quite the statement. The V8-powered grand tourer is a gorgeous expression of wealth; driving something this prestigious would let everyone know you’ve arrived.

But, in places like Monaco, the Prancing Horse’s cheapest offering won’t cut the mustard. Remember, this is a playground for the ultra-rich – not even a Formula 1 star piloting a Ferrari F40 is worth making a fuss about. So, if you want to make a statement, what should you do?

We’d suggest ordering yourself the awe-inspiring Naval Yachts LXT88 superyacht. Measuring 88 feet from stem to stern, this gin palace is the ultimate expression of wealth. If the flamboyant styling appeals, that’s because this incredible creation takes design inspiration from the world of supercars.

Speaking to Boat International, co-founder Baris Dinc said the floating concept was inspired by an existing client’s love of fast cars. The side profile of the LXT88 mirrors the silhouette of a sleek supercar, evidenced by the wheel arch-aping lines that span the length of the yacht. Something no supercar will ever be able to match is the front-facing jacuzzi.

The unique shape also gives the impression that the sleek LXT88 is floating on the water rather than in it, much like a supercar hunkers down on the road. Black carbon fiber finishings lend extra sporting flair, while the bridge also boasts a sleek design. Lastly, the entire thing has been painted in a vivid shade of orange, a color that will most certainly stand out in the marina. What’s more, there’s some bite to match the visual bark.

Like a proper Italian thoroughbred, the Naval Yachts LXT88 superyacht will be powered by twin MTU 1600 V12 engines, allowing this hefty symbol of excess to reach upwards of 42 knots (48 mph) – not bad when you consider a superyacht can weight as much as 100,000 lbs. No images of the cabin have been provided yet, but we’re expecting something truly special.

We’ve seen some pretty special car-themed yachts, but this most certainly takes the cake. The Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 comes close. With 4,000 horsepower on tap, it will be more than a match performance-wise but, in terms of sheer decadence, it’s outclassed. Bugatti’s ultra-luxury boat is, admittedly, far prettier than the LXT88.

Naval Yachts hasn’t disclosed how expensive its new concept will be but we’re guessing its clientele isn’t the sort to lose any sleep over a multi-million dollar price tag.
