We think the Supra’s shape lends itself well to the elegance of Alpina.
Now that we’ve all (mostly) finally come around to the fact that the Toyota GR Supra is a BMW at heart, we can comfortably state that the A90 Supra is brilliant. In fact, it’s better than the Z4 with which it shares many components, and the new manual variant will have a better version of BMW’s own gearbox. With these things in mind, what would happen if the eclectic BMW Z3 M Coupe (and its Z4 M Coupe descendant) got a spiritual successor in the form of an Alpina-fettled “ZUPR4”? The answer is below and comes courtesy of digital rendering artist Abimelec Arellano.

Arellano has styled his Alpina-inspired Z4 M Coupe brilliantly. Alpina is not known for overt modifications, so the Supra gets a mild front splitter, some reasonably sized side skirts, and a slightly-more-extreme rear spoiler. Yellow daytime running lights in the style of limited-edition BMWs add a touch of motorsport-inspired aggression. The rear end sees a carbon fiber diffuser made more elegant with a quartet of exhaust tips, while Alpina badging and roundels replace those of the GR Supra and its Toyota emblems. A set of Alpina’s trademark multi-spoke wheels further enhance the upscale performance look, while subtle pinstriping further pays homage to Alpina’s unique flavor. Inside, this blue concept has been made to feel more luxurious with white upholstery.

The changes are comprehensive but realistic, and although the body itself has not morphed as it typically would for a BMW M Coupe, the shape of the GR Supra is more than dramatic enough as standard. And should Alpina blue with tan upholstery not be to your liking, Arellano has included other potential looks. Red leather on black paint, tan on green, red on red, and purple on purple are the other variations shown, and most appear true to form for an Alpina-fettled product. Of course, such a thing will never become a reality for the mass market, but maybe somebody will recreate this for their own Toyota Supra. We’d love to see them try.
