Take A Look Inside The New Honda HR-V’s Redesigned Interior

With production wrapping up for the current-generation model, Honda is almost ready to reveal the all-new HR-V. The official reveal will take place on February 18, so we don’t have too long to wait. Ahead of its debut, Honda has released the first images of the new HR-V’s redesigned interior after giving us a sneak peek of the exterior last month.

Compared to the outgoing model, the new subcompact will have upgraded tech including a floating display for the infotainment system previewed in the teaser. The current base model is equipped with a five-inch screen, while higher trims come with a seven-inch touchscreen as standard.

One teaser shows the user operating Apple CarPlay on the display with their iPhone. There’s no cable, which suggests the new HR-V will be available with Wireless CarPlay, but it isn’t clear if this will be a standard feature. Another teaser confirms the climate control will still be operated using physical controls. We also get a glimpse of the SUV’s glass moonroof allowing natural light into the cabin.

In Japan, the HR-V will be sold as the Vezel, but in Europe it will be sold exclusively as a hybrid just like Europe’s Honda Fit e:HEV. The badging suggests it will share the same hybrid powertrain as the CR-V e:HEV, which pairs a 2.0-liter i-VTEC gasoline engine with two electric motors producing a combined 184 horsepower.

The US version will be radically different from its European and Japanese counterparts, however. Honda has confirmed the new HR-V “will be designed to meet the distinct needs of US customers, and will differ from the Honda Vezel/HR-V that will be introduced in other regions.”

Details about the US version are scarce, so we’ll have to wait and see if it will also be offered exclusively with a hybrid powertrain. We should find out more information about America’s new HR-V shortly after Japan’s Honda Vezel debuts on February 18.
