Stellantis has revealed how current models will evolve through this decade.

Within the tentative new wage agreement that Stellantis has agreed with the United Auto Workers union, the automaker has revealed its plans for growth in the coming years, including what new cars are in the works. The strike action called many of the automaker’s plans into question and even led to Stellantis considering selling some of its US-based plants to stay afloat. Now that the negotiations are over (for the next few years, at least), Stellantis can focus on bolstering its lineup.

The agreement revealed product plans for Jeep, Dodge, and Ram. Let’s take a look at what we can expect before the close of the decade.

Jeep Wrangler/Gladiator

According to the agreement, the current-generation Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator will continue unchanged into 2028. Both models were recently facelifted, so they should remain fresh until the replacement models arrive.

Before that happens, the Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid will receive an upgrade, and it seems the Gladiator will finally receive an electrified 4xe option. The next-generation Wrangler will arrive in 2028 and will be offered with two electrified drivetrains. The first will be a fully electric vehicle, while the other will be sold as a range-extender hybrid that Jeep is calling REPB (Range Electric Paradigm Breaker).

It will be interesting to see whether Jeep will offer the new Wrangler with both traditional ICE and PHEV setups. Before the electric Wrangler arrives, Jeep will also introduce the Recon, which is being touted as an all-electric Wrangler alternative.

Jeep Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer/Ram 1500

The range-topping Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer lineup will soldier on until 2028, but a facelifted model will arrive in 2025. At the same time, Stellantis will introduce range extender Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneers based on the STLA platform.

Two years later, fully electric versions will arrive. There’s no word yet on whether Jeep will replace the ICE-powered Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, but the outline notes that a second facelift is in the cards for 2027.

As for the Ram 1500, the current model will continue for 2024, with a facelift likely to debut alongside the all-electric Ram 1500 EV and range extender, due in the coming months.

Dodge Durango/Jeep Grand Cherokee

Stellantis’ popular Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee are also in for a series of changes. The former will be built through 2025, with a replacement model arriving in 2026. The new Durango will be offered as a pure EV and as a combustion-engine vehicle, which should appeal to a broader range of customers.

As for the Grand Cherokee, a facelift will arrive in 2024, so we can expect a reveal in the coming months. Following that, the two-row model will be put out to pasture around 2027, with the three-row model following a year later. The next-generation Grand Cherokee will arrive in 2027 and, like the Durango, will be offered in both ICE and electric variants.

While this is all specified in the UAW/Stellantis agreement, the automaker has yet to confirm this, so keep in mind that plans may change slightly.
