  3. Steeda Builds A Badass Ford Mustang Cop Car

This Mustang is something special.

The world of cop cars is populated by numerous special creations, and many of these law enforcement vehicles are sometimes even cooler than the sports cars they are based on. While some police departments have begun exploring electric vehicles as new additions to their fleets, some swear by the muscle of a combustion-powered car and we’ve seen the Challenger Hellcat help with keeping the peace. One of these seems to be the Valdosta Police Department, as the agency has just acquired an awesome new cop car based on the Ford Mustang GT. With choice upgrades from Ford specialist Steeda, this is sure to leave a lasting impression.

The car promises “to keep up through sharp turns, long stretches, and some of the harshest driving around to help the police perform their jobs to the best of their abilities.” So what has been altered to achieve these claims? Well, the factory 5.0-liter V8 engine has been enhanced with the addition of a Steeda MaxFlow open cold air intake and an AWE Tuning Touring Edition cat-back exhaust with Black Diamond tips.

To maximize those hardware upgrades, the Mustang also gets an SCT X4 remote tuner and diagnostics reader that can hold up to 10 custom tunes. Also added are a set of McQueen Racing Mulholland gloss black staggered 20-inch wheels wrapped in Nitto INVO rubber.

Power is nothing without control, so Steeda also added its proprietary suspension upgrades in the form of a front and rear sway bar kit, a subframe bushing support system, an IRS subframe alignment kit, rear subframe support braces, an Ultralite two-point G-Trac brace, and low-profile jacking rails. Also added were a hood strut kit, a trunk pop kit, a large rear wing, and a number of Steeda badges, banners, and decals. Naturally, the usual lighting and siren paraphernalia were fitted too, along with Valdosta PD decals.

The end result is an intimidating machine that will be a great asset to the force. Let’s just hope that the officer behind the wheel has more skill than most Mustang drivers.
