Nobody asked for this, but it’s here anyway.
One of the biggest stories in the American automotive sphere last year was the ongoing debacle surrounding the spontaneously combusting Chevrolet Bolt. In fact, it’s an issue that has been plaguing the car since 2020, and despite the best efforts of all involved, the story is still not at a conclusion. Despite this, it’s been some time since we heard any fresh reports of the car catching fire, so either everyone has sold their Bolts back to dealers, or the underlying issue is truly resolved. Whatever the case, General Motors wants you to forget about the past and has been marketing the car with renewed vigor. But perhaps commercials aren’t enough, as Chevrolet has now revealed a Redline Edition of the Bolt EUV. Hopefully, that red doesn’t call to mind the fire department.

The Bolt has never been a car renowned for its performance. It produces just 200 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque, and although that’s plenty for most people, it’s not enough for spirited driving. Sadly, the new Redline Edition does nothing to change that, and you’re stuck with a seven-second 0-60 time. Again, not bad, but not exhilarating either. What you do get is a lot of stuff that’s nicer to look at, assuming nothing is melting from an unexpected fire. Among the upgrades are a set of 17-inch gloss black wheels with red accents, a black-and-red Bolt EUV badge on the rear hatch, and red decals on the wing mirrors.

Inside, the Bolt EUV Redline Edition is uplifted by a jet black leather interior with red contrast stitching. This feature is available on both the LT and Premier trims, as is the full spread of color options: Summit White, Mosaic Black Metallic, and Silver Flare Metallic.
Unfortunately, Chevrolet has not provided any further information and is yet to inform us of the cost of this car. The regular LT starts at $33,500 while the Premier costs $38,000. We suspect, given the minority of the changes, that the Redline Edition won’t command a massive premium. Heck, it might even arrive at a discount just so Chevy can shift it.
