Coming soon to a Wrangler and Renegade near you.

Summer is now on the horizon, Jeep is bringing back its Islander edition. Not only is it coming back for the Wrangler, but it’s coming to the Jeep Renegade for the first time, complete with upgraded off-road capability and fun summer styling.

“Our Jeep enthusiasts expect legendary Jeep 4×4 capability, and they also embrace the Jeep brand’s fun ‘go anywhere, do anything’ adventure lifestyle,” said Jim Morrison, Vice President, Jeep Brand North America. “With Surf Blue accent stitching, Islander-embroidered front seats and available white three-piece hardtop on the Wrangler, you can’t help but think summer and the beach life when you see these new Islander special editions.”

It’s a good move by Jeep to bring the Islander edition back just when the US needs a little optimism. The pandemic isn’t over, and getting out and about where many other vehicles can’t go is a great way to socially distance while having fun. The Jeep Wrangler Islander is based around the Wrangler Sport S and comes with the Jeep Command-Trac 4×4 part-time system and the two-speed transfer case with a 2.72:1 low-range gear ratio. It runs on 17-inch Rubicon Silver Finish aluminum wheels with all-terrain tires and features Rubicon Rock Rails. Outside, it also has a Tiki Bob hood decal, and a white three-piece hardtop is available. Inside are black cloth seats with an embroidered Islander logo, Surf Blue accent stitching, and a Ceramic White mid-bolster.

Buyers can further add a Mopar-supplied Islander Plus Package available that adds front and rear grab handles, a solid sunbonnet top, a cargo tub liner, and a Tiki Bob soft spare-tire cover.

The Renegade Islander edition isn’t as off-road capable off the shelf but is available with Jeep’s Active Drive full-time 4×4 system. It comes with 19-inch Silver Alloy wheels wrapped in all-season tires, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, keyless entry, and remote start as standard. Outside, Islander-specific details include a Tiki Bob hood decal, and inside include black cloth seats with an embroidered Islander logo and Surf Blue accent stitching.

Both special editions are available now, with the Jeep Wrangler Islander starting at $33,370 for two-door models and $36,870 for four-door models. The Jeep Renegade Islander’s MSRP starts at $27,430, but both have a $1,495 destination fee applicable.
