The refreshed sedan gets a limited edition.

Genesis is now pushing hard into the luxury market and upping its exclusivity level with a launch edition for its refreshed G70 model. It will be limited to a 500 model run and come with unique color combinations and the upgraded 365 horsepower twin-turbo 3.3-liter V6 engine. The G70 Launch Edition comes with a red leather interior, lightweight 19-inch black wheels, and the choice between Verbier White or Melbourne Grey “shape defining” matte exterior paint. It’s also available with either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive and will go on sale alongside the standard refresh model in the spring of this year. Unfortunately, the manual option is completely gone for the 2022 model year.

The G70 3.3T Launch Edition builds on the Sport Prestige package that comes with electronically controlled suspension, a limited-slip diff, Brembo brakes, and a variable exhaust valve system. Tech includes a head-up display, surround-view camera system, blind-spot monitoring, a Lexicon 15-speaker sound system, Genesis Digital Key, and more.

The matte paint certainly shows off the Genesis G70’s updated styling using the design language we first saw on the all-new GV80 SUV. That includes the distinctive quad headlamps, a reshaped signature crest grill mounted lower on the front, and new split-style LED taillights.

Aside from the Launch Edition, the refreshed G70 will be available with 14 exterior colors, including new options like Sedona Brown, Tasman Blue, and Bond Silver, as well as non-matte Verbier White, Melbourne Grey. Inside, the updated G70 has a larger 10.25-inch infotainment screen with a unique user interface design to the Genesis brand. The infotainment system supports over-the-air updates via a Wi-Fi feature, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard.

Pricing hasn’t been released yet, but we expect there to be a small bump over the current pricing, which starts at $37,025 and rises up to $49,225 for a 3.3T AWD model. The G70 Launch Edition will be the range-topper until the 500 units are sold, and it’s available to reserve now on the Genesis website.
