Fortunately, the rest of the range is vastly more affordable.

The Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo seeks to be all cars to all people with a big enough wallet. It’s a spacious wagon with raisable suspension, and electric power can launch the top trim Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds. Around the office, we were joking that all it has to do is come in brown, and you’d have the ultimate automotive journalist’s car. Well, shortly after the official unveiling, Porsche has not only revealed pricing for the full lineup, but launched the online configurator, too, and in typical Porsche fashion, there’s no element of the car you can’t customize. But we’ll get to that.

To start with, Porsche makes the Taycan Cross Turismo available in four trims: 4, 4S, Turbo, and Turbo S. Pricing starts at $90,900 before destination for the 4 Cross Turismo, while the 4S carries an MSRP of $110,300. Moving up to a Turbo derivative will set you back $153,500, while the range-topping Turbo S Cross Turismo starts at an eye-watering $187,600.

We’re simple folk, though, so we’d settle for configuring a base-level Taycan 4 Cross Turismo, starting with journalist-approved Mahogany Metallic for $800. We love the 20-inch Offroad Design Wheels for another $2,380, and would want a set of black aluminum roof rails for $830. We’re also suckers for under-door puddle lights, so that’s another $330. We’d then tack on the Off-Road Design Package for the extra ground clearance and rugged looks at a fee of $1,780.

Packages drive the price up on Porsche models, but it would be silly to spend this kind of money without adding the $5,860 Premium Package for things like ventilated seats and the Bose audio system. Inside, we’d keep it basic for the most part, but add the Advanced 4-Zone Climate Control for $990, ambient lighting for $500, and the head-up display for $1,850. That’s a fun, practical, and sharp Porsche with a black interior for $99,890.

Some buyers might not be so sensible, so for those, we went all out and fully specced a Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo.

It starts at $187,600, but adding Ice Grey Metallic costs an extra $3,150, and 21-inch Porsche Exclusive Design wheels add another $4,510. Olea Club Leather costs $2,450 no matter what color combo you choose, we just happen to like the Basalt Black over Meranti Brown paired with the Ice Grey paint. Adaptive Sport seats are a no-cost option, but add the Off-Road Design Package with colored inlays, the Premium Package, and Technology Package, and that’s another $9,370. Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control Sport adds another $3,590, and adding everything we could; we notched up a total of just under $260,000. We suspect with enough time to go through every possible configuration of body-color-matched leather floor mats, you might get it a little beyond this, but at the price of a McLaren 600LT Spider, we aren’t going to try to push the matter any further.
