Drilling into floorboard

So i want to remove my carpetting but i still wanna use my Mopar floor mats. I bought a spare set of the clips that hold them down Im just trying to figure out how to secure them. I tried Epoxy and it wasnt strong enough. Would drilling some self tappers into the floor be a bad idea? 4 in the front (in front of the seats) and 2 in the back (behind the front seats).
