Deus Vayanne Hypercar Lands In New York With 2,200 HP

If you haven’t yet heard of Deus Automobiles, that’s about to change. The newly formed automaker previously teased a big reveal at this year’s 2022 New York International Auto Show, and after seeing the company’s first car, we think Deus could soon become a household name on the level of Pagani or Rimac. Give a warm hello to the Deus Vayanne, an all-electric hypercar with a predicted output of over 2,200 horsepower and 1,475 lb-ft of torque. The Vayanne should give rival hypercars like the Rimac Nevera a run for their money with a top speed of more than 248 mph and claimed 0-62 mph time of quicker than 1.99 seconds.

If you’re a billionaire shopping for a Lotus Evija, Pininfarina Battista, or the aforementioned Nevera, this latest hypercar should probably go on your shopping list. The Vayanne outguns all three on raw power and should be comparable in performance.

Deus hasn’t shared much about the car’s electric motors but mentions that the flexible EVX platform was developed with help from Williams Advanced Engineering (a spin-off of the Formula 1 team) and Italdesign, designers of some outrageously cool supercars. Both the front and rear designs resemble the infinity loop, which is unlike any hypercar we’ve seen before. This shape is perfect for providing airflow to the cooling system and keeping with the company’s design goals.

“At Deus, design is not merely about the looks, it is an integrated concept that reflects the marque’s main credo: to effortlessly combine exquisite design and functionality with cutting-edge technology in the EV hypercar segment,” says Adrian-Filip Butuca, head of design at Deus. “To showcase this harmony, we chose to stylize the Vayanne around the idea of symmetry and geometric alignment of its lines and design features.”

Vehicles from startup companies like Deus can often look like a hodgepodge of parts-bin pieces from other automakers, but the Vayanne appears mostly bespoke (aside from some easily recognizable Audi turn signal stalks and lighting buttons). The interior looks fairly minimal, with a digital gauge cluster but no central screen. Deus says the leather for the cabin was treated and produced using sustainable solutions with zero waste. The launch car features a black and white color scheme representing the “synergy between purity, perfection, beauty and naturalness” plus “elegance, technology, and avant-garde.”

The press release mentions a Halo Infinity mirror, which isn’t quite visible in the provided photos. Deus hasn’t provided any information on pricing, likely because the Vayanne is still years away from production. The production run is limited to 99 units with delivery in 2025. We wonder if it will still beat the Tesla Roadster to market.
