Hi all.
My dad has a 2011 Wrangler JKu sport, w/ auto.
Today he noticed it was blowing cold air from the HVAC system. I checked the coolant reservoir and it was nearly empty, even though I’d filled it up only a few weeks ago. I added coolant, took it for a short drive, and it hot air blew again (as expected). I checked the reservoir again, and it’s nearly empty. I checked the rad, as well, and the fluid levels are high. There’s not noticeable leak on the ground when he parks overnight. Engine seems to run fine.
There does seem to be some leaking around the thermostat housing, but I don’t see how it could force out 3 liters of coolant in 10 minutes without a nice steam show from under the hood. There’s no steam to speak of.
What is going on here?
