  3. Chevrolet Has BIG Discounts On The Silverado This Month

Get up to $3,000 off the Bowtie brand’s pickup truck.

While its battery-powered sibling grabs all the headlines, the ICE-powered Chevrolet Silverado and Silverado Limited quietly soldier on. Unsurprisingly, it remains a popular buy with American consumers; the Bow-Tie brand’s popular pickup truck is one of the country’s best-selling vehicles and, in the first quarter alone, Chevrolet managed to shift nearly 119,000 units. Impressive stuff, but still some way behind rivals Ford and Ram.

Perhaps the latest round of discounts and incentives will help drum up more sales. For the month of May, Chevrolet is offering as much as $3,000 off the price of the F-150 rival, depending on engine choice and configuration. For those looking to make a cash purchase, the 2022 Silverado 1500 turbocharged 2.7-liter is a great deal. Together with a $1,000 cash allowance, there’s a $2,000 package deal, too.

The Silverado 1500, however, just receives a $1,500 package discount when configured with the same inline-four engine. Both are privy to the same finance deals – through GM Financial, well-qualified buyers can enjoy 1.9% APR for up to five years. However, a quick dive into Chevrolet’s website will also reveal that there are 0% APR deals to be had on 2021 Limited models.

Those who prefer to lease will be pleased to know the 1500 Limited Crew Cab 2WD, in conjunction with the 2.7-liter, is available for just $299 per month, for two years. While there’s no security deposit, lessees are expected to cough up $3,974 at signing. If you require more off-road ability, the 4WD model is available over the same period for $319/month. Again, there’s no security deposit but $4,559 is required at signing. Both deals are tethered to an ultra low-mileage lease for well-qualified customers.

While General Motors is placing its might behind the EV revolution, the company is smart enough to know that many customers (especially loyal pickup drivers) will remain hesitant to switch over to electric power. As such, the ICE-powered Silverado is only set to get better in the coming years. We already know the 2023 model year will receive a new turbodiesel motor and will likely bring more power with improved gas mileage.

Elsewhere, there are rumors that GM is working on an even more extreme variant of the Silverado. Known as the Bison Edition, dealer documents suggest the newcomer will gain off-road accessories such as protective skid plates, unique wheels, lifted suspension, and even an optional snorkel. It appears there are no plans to boost power – GM would surely benefit from a Raptor/TRX rival – but it’s still set to be a massively capable off-roader.
