Three different variants are on offer.

When it comes to braking systems for high-performance cars, there’s one brand that stands head and shoulders above the rest: Brembo. The Italian manufacturer is respected worldwide and is often copied or replicated, but Brembo is launching a new way to prevent this sort of thing by allowing owners to check the legitimacy of their purchase with a new app. Along with this new feature, Brembo is also offering three new upgrade packages for street and track cars, building on the truck and SUV offerings released back in 2019, the mirror-finish discs launched last year, and the brand’s existing customization options. So let’s see what each of the three new offerings is meant to do.

First up is the Sport upgrade, which is a direct replacement for OEM discs. Brembo says these are “ideal for enthusiasts who use their vehicles both for normal road use as well as high-performance driving.” This new Brembo Sport T3 disc is easily distinguishable from its predecessor thanks to a new type of slotting and the Brembo logo engraved on the disc, a characteristic present throughout the new range. Apparently, this slot design is the same one you’ll find on WTCR World Championship cars and has been used in Le Mans racing too.

Next is the GT range, which, as the name suggests, is for bigger, heavier cars that are used aggressively on the street or on the track. Available with a variety of caliper colors, you can make it look OEM or have the upgrade stand out.

Finally, Brembo offers the Pista FF range, available in FF6 or FF4 (six-piston or four-piston) configurations. These are meant for track use and even feature a quick-release system for the brake pads that allows the pads to be removed without the caliper being stripped from the hub carrier. This setup is obviously even more capable than the new Brembo offering on Cadillac’s CT5-V Blackwing.

So how is Brembo going to help you verify that you’re getting genuine products? A new app called Brembo Check is being released that allows you to scan the QR code on the Brembo packaging or the QR code on the product itself. Once this is done, the app will tell you if you have a genuine part. This is a great idea; when it comes to braking, you really don’t want to take chances.
