Because the BMW X6 M clearly needs more muscle.

Powered by a turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 producing 600 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque, the BMW X6 M is a ridiculously powerful SUV. Equipping the optional Competition package increases the output to 617 hp, which is more muscle than most SUV buyers will ever need. If this still doesn’t satisfy you, German tuner G-Power has launched a new tuning package that takes the X6 M’s performance to new levels of insanity.

G-Power’s power upgrade is available in three states of tune to suit different budgets. Costing €2,495 ($3,010), G-Power’s ECU remapping performance software massages the X6 M’s V8 to generate 690 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 73 hp and 74 lb-ft over the stock X6 M.

Opting for the Stage 2 performance software boosts the SUV’s 4.4-liter V8 to a whopping 737 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque for €3,495 ($4,200). In addition, the Stage 2 kit also requires a €3,495 ($4,200) stainless-steel exhaust system with valve control and sports downpipes.

Topping the range is the Stage 3 upgrade, which increases the output to a monumental 789 hp and 701 lb-ft of torque. To boost the X6 M to supercar levels of power, G-Power adds new performance software (€4,595 / $5,550) and upgrades the turbocharger for an extra €5,950 / $7,200), in addition to the aforementioned downpipes and exhaust system.

In total, these upgrades will set you back around $20,000 extra over the standard X6 M, which starts at $108,600 without any modifications. G-Power doesn’t say how these modifications affect the performance, but the super SUV should be considerably faster than the stock X6 M, which accelerates from 0-62 mph in 3.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 177 mph with the M Driver’s package installed. G-Power can also increase the top speed to 186 mph, making it only marginally slower than the Lamborghini Urus.

If you still have money left to burn, G-Power also offers 23-inch wheels wrapped in 315/25 high-performance tires and a lowered suspension to make the X6 M look even more menacing. BMW is currently testing prototypes of the upcoming X6 facelift, so the M version should also get a refresh next year.
