German tuner AC Schnitzer has also tinkered under the hood to give the 4 Series a power boost.
Since it debuted last year, the BMW 4 Series Coupe has been dividing opinions. BMW defended its decision, arguing that the changes distinguish the 4 Series from the 3 Series while also acknowledging that you can’t please everyone. BMW tuning house AC Schnitzer has now launched a new tuning package that enhances the exterior. While the tuner hasn’t modified the controversial grille, the new components improve the car’s performance and handling.
Providing more downforce is a new front splitter, side skirts, rear roof spoiler, and front spoiler elements. A carbon rear spoiler will also be available in June, and protection foil can be added to the rear fenders.

To improve the car’s center of gravity, a spring kit lowers the 4 Series by 0.7 inches to 1.18 inches compared to the standard suspension. Alternatively, a sports suspension kit can lower the car by 0.5 inches to 0.9 inches.
Complementing the exterior add-ons are custom 19- and 20-inch alloy wheels that can be painted in silver, grey, or gloss black. Under the hood, the 430i’s 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine’s output has been increased to 300 horsepower and 346 lb-ft of torque, up from 255 hp and 294 lb-ft in the standard model.

The German tuner has also extracted 420 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque from the M440i xDrive’s 3.0-liter inline-six, compared to 382 hp and 369 lb-ft in the stock car. AC Schnitzer is also working on a power upgrade for the M440d xDrive. No performance specifications were revealed, but the modified 4 Series should be faster off the line than the standard car.
For reference, the 430i will accelerate from 0-62 mph in 5.6 seconds, while the M440i XDrive will do the same sprint in 4.6 seconds with an automatic gearbox. Rounding off the upgrades is a new stainless steel exhaust system available in carbon, chrome, or black trim.
