The Flying Spur Hybrid will be a hit with this EV-loving nation.
Bentley has expanded its presence in Norway, with the official opening of its new Oslo-based headquarters. The British automaker also took the opportunity to showcase the new Flying Spur Hybrid, the company’s second-ever electrified car. The new state-of-the-art facility is situated in the heart of the country’s capital and will serve as the focal point of all things Bentley.
Measuring around 3,767 sq ft, the dealership boasts a commissioning area where buyers can customize their dream Bentley, while those who require an even more exclusive build will gain access to the company’s bespoke Mulliner department.
The local introduction of the electrified Flying Spur is big news for Norway, a country that has embraced the EV era with open arms. Sales of electric cars are strong and, in January, the Porsche Taycan managed to outsell every gas- and diesel-powered car combined.

“I am pleased to officially open the home of Bentley in Norway, and see the development, growth, and interest for our electrified model range and our forward-thinking Beyond100 strategy …Norway is aligned with our plans and strategy for the future [and is] a great place to see the upcoming trends in luxury sustainable mobility,” commented Bentley’s Balazs Rooz.
As part of the ambitious Beyond100 strategy, the carmaker is aiming to introduce a new electric vehicle every year from 2025 onwards. Additionally, a £2.5 billion (approx. $3.1 billion) investment will prepare the historic Crewe facility for the next generation of electrified Bentleys. By 2030, the brand hopes to transform the factory into a “Dream Factory.”
This will see the company adopt a more environmentally friendly approach by reducing water consumption and “other environmental impacts…to an absolute minimum.”

We won’t have to wait too long for Bentley to unveil its first fully-electric car. Initially, CEO Adrian Hallmark said the first EV to wear the “Bold B” will be an SUV of some sort. This would make sense as the Bentayga is the company’s cash cow and accounted for 40% of total sales last year.
However, Hallmark has since said the company’s first EV will be able to hit 60 mph in 1.5 seconds and we doubt Bentley will let an SUV hold the title of its fastest accelerating car. It’s likely to arrive as a decadent grand tourer priced in Mulsanne territory.
It’s set to be a looker, too. The battery-powered GT car will draw design inspiration from the recently revealed Bacalar and take the fight to the upcoming Rolls-Royce Spectre, Goodwood’s first production EV.
