The big B is hiring.

While Dodge is out hiring Chief Donut Makers for $150K a year, Bentley is looking for someone to take the brand in its newer, greener direction. In fact, the Crewe-based luxury brand is looking for more than just someone, announcing today that it’ll be hiring 100 new engineers.

More than half of these engineers will be working on complex software, electrical, and UI/UX systems that’ll support greener vehicles like the Bentley Bentayga Hybrid and Flying Spur Hybrid. They’ll also be seeing some of the top-secret stuff that Bentley doesn’t show anyone else, with engineers working on some of the brand’s upcoming models.

That means working towards what Bentley calls the Five-in-Five plan- that’s the brand’s plan to bring out five new electric Bentley models every year for five years, from 2025 on. Right now, only 50 of those 100 positions are officially open, with the rest coming over the next several weeks and months. You can toss your hat in the ring (supposing you’re qualified and live in the UK) over on Bentley’s website.

Of course, given the position’s involvement with as-yet-undisclosed electric Bentleys, the brand is pretty light on the details. Half of the jobs, (the half we discussed above) are focused on “electrical competencies as Bentley aims for full electrification of its product range within eight years.” Other positions also include chassis engineers working on current and upcoming models and design managers.

For those of you unwilling to give up the post-pandemic WFH life, even if it does mean a job at Bentley, you’ll be happy to know the position is a (Bentayga) hybrid of working scenarios. New hires will work both from Crewe and from home.

Your in-office digs should be pretty sweet too, with Bentley having put a multi-million dollar sum into renovating offices into a large open floorplan. The benefits aren’t too bad either. Employees have access to a new company car every six months (either a VW, Audi, Seat, or Skoda), 35 days holiday, 10% pension contributions, and more. If you know your stuff, you could have a chance to work for one of the world’s best-known luxury automakers. Sounds pretty sweet to us.
