And it’ll still sell like hotcakes.

With the arrival of SUVs like the Jeep Grand Wagoneer, it’s pretty clear that there is still a market for massive luxury SUVs. At present, the biggest you can get from Audi is the Q7 (the Q8, which only has to seat five, isn’t far behind), but Audi has had a trademark on the Q9 name since 2013, and with us capturing spy shots of an all-new large SUV bearing four rings, it seems that Audi could finally be ready to introduce the nameplate as the brand’s biggest vehicle yet. With this in mind, we decided to have a crack at rendering the vehicle to see what it might look like when it finally hits the market.

In typical Audi style, we expect a large Singleframe grille to dominate the front fascia and be flanked by slim LED headlights on either side. As per those spy shots, spot fog lights will reside just below these narrow headlights while RS-style intake vents lower down add an aggressive look that is complemented by a decorative skid plate. Expect huge wheels inside those molded arches, likely with offerings as big as 22 inches. Down the profile, the contoured doors have an ‘Avant’ style to them thanks to a chiseled set of fenders front and rear that make the doors look closer together.

Between those roof rails, there will almost certainly be a panoramic glass roof. Although not pictured here, we expect the rear to feature high-mounted taillights, possibly extending across the width of the rear fascia. Here, you’ll likely find a faux diffuser and a pair of fake vents to complement the look of the front bumper. Expect dual-exit exhaust tips and an impractically narrow rear windshield. Considering that the Q7 and Q8 are already rather large and this would likely be bigger, it’s quite possible that the Q9 could be a seven- or eight-seater vehicle. With a prototype already out and about, it shouldn’t be too long before we learn exactly what the Q9 will offer.
