There’s Now A Ford F-150 Lightning In Every State Across America

To call the Ford F-150 Lightning a success would be an understatement. Demand remains strong and, a day before the launch, the Blue Oval announced it had already sold the entire 2022 allocation. With deliveries kicking off in late May, it’s been just over two months since the first customers got their hands on the desirable truck.

According to Ford, there’s already an F-150 Lightning in all 50 states, which underscores the appeal of the desired vehicle for many different and unique consumers, all of whom can’t get enough of their new pickup. Jeff and Tammy Head use their Lightning in a number of circumstances, such as towing a boat for fishing tips at the Kenai River in Alaska.

“From the time we watched it at the reveal, we knew that we wanted it … we had no doubt that this truck will have trademark Ford quality which gave us the confidence to transition to an electric vehicle,” said Tammy Head.

The Blue Oval notes owners are particularly fond of the Mega Power Frunk, a particularly handy storage feature.

Emre Gol is one such individual. The Texas-based Lightning Lariat owner uses the pickup for his remodeling business and adores the practicality offered up by the frunk. “This truck is a workhorse. We have driven more than 3,000 miles already and towed and carried hundreds of pounds of concrete in the frunk,” he added.

For Chris Ashley, the F-150 Lightning is the first electric vehicle he has ever purchased. After years of contemplating EV ownership, Ashley ordered his cherished pickup truck after his wife, Emily, convinced him to. “The Lightning is the best thing I have ever purchased … with this truck, I can enhance my love of tailgating while at the same time [playing] a small role in creating a better planet for my children.”

The Maryland resident is just one of many people that are making the switch to EVs with the F-150 Lightning. A recent survey showed that, for nearly 80% of early reservation holders, the Lightning would be their first fully electric vehicle.

So far, Ford has sold more than 4,400 F-150 Lightning pickup trucks in the United States and Canada. Unsurprisingly, truck-loving Texas leads the sales charge, along with California, a state with a notable EV love affair. It’s no surprise that the F-150 Lightning is enjoying this level of success.

Electrifying an American icon was a big risk, but Ford proved to the world that it was the right step into the electric future. Short range (SR) models enjoy a maximum range of 230 miles, while the Platinum Extended Range (ER) models can travel 300 miles between trips to the charging station. However, it’s the XLT ER and Lariat ER that boast the best claimed range – 320 miles is impressive in such a large vehicle.
